Important note about Air Display on Lion

The Air Display host software runs well on Lion, except for Mac models with dual NVIDIA GeForce 9400M & 9600M video adapter. The Air Display driver is incompatible with these specific machines.

Affected Mac models include:

  • 15" MacBook Pro (late 2008 and mid 2009)
  • 17" MacBook Pro (early and mid 2009).

Introducing Air Display for Mac: Retail

Welcome to the public beta of Air Display for Mac: Retail.

Air Display for Mac: Retail is just like the app Air Display for Mac in the Mac App Store, but it runs on Macs that are not compatible with the Mac App Store, including PowerPC-based Macs and Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8. Now you can dig that old PowerBook or PowerMac out of the attic and have a second monitor!

This app has been through a full QA test cycle here at Avatron, but our test lab has a limited selection of PowerPC Macs. This is where your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Minimum System Requirements : Mac OS X 10.5.8, 1GB RAM and G4 1.6Ghz Processor.

If you have a chance to test on a less capable machine, we would love to hear about your experience.

1) Download the Air Display Mac: Retail beta on the Mac that you will use as a second monitor.
2) Download and Install the free Air Display support software (above, on this page) on your main Mac or Windows computer.

The beta will run for an hour of connection time before prompting for a license key, or purchase.

Please send back your observations. Include as much detailed information as possible, including:
- For each problem that you find, a description of the steps you took to encounter the problem.
- Is the problem reproducible, or has it only occurred once?
- System Profile. To open System Profiler, choose Apple Menu > About This Mac, and then click More Info. Then select File Menu > Save and attach the resulting spx file to your email.
- Any crash crash logs, if applicable. These can be found in the Console.app under the "User Diagnostic Reports".
- Any error messages, either on screen or in the system logs.
- Screen shots. These often help us understand the problem.

Thanks in advance for your assistance. Please send all feedback and questions to Avatron Support.
